 built by the great pharaoh Khufu Pyramids were built as tombs for the kings 

and queens of Egypt Khufus pyramid at the top was capped with gold or silver,
 And the whole of the pyramid covered in smooth limestone ,

at the right you can see three pyramids lined up at an angle,

These are the pyramids of Khufu, Khafra and Menkaura,
 Some believe the three main pyramids were built to line up with the constellation Orion
